Maïlys Seydoux Dumas

Born in Saumur in 1967 and graduated from the Decorative Arts of Paris in 1992, after training in engraving in the studio of Jean Clerté, Maïlys Seydoux Dumas combines painting with engraving and tapestry in her work, now producing jewelry.
Through color, material and design, she expresses a dialogue with reality. Maïlys paints scenes from her life. Her palette makes us discover her inner world. The objects that surround her are found in her work, witnesses of her daily life and her dreams.
Since 1997, her work has been the subject of numerous personal and collective exhibitions, mainly in France, Belgium and Switzerland.

“My path as an artist has taken me from printmaking to painting, then from painting to tapestry. I made my own jewelry while having fun and surprise they were appreciated and I enjoy it. As much as my painting testifies to an intimate story, I want my jewelry to transmit the happiness of a rediscovered childhood. 
As a child, I remember making beautiful chestnut leaf tiaras. A memory that I would like to share with other women. »

Haïm Kern, painter, sculptor and poet, has been collaborating with Maïlys for several years. He wrote three poems to celebrate his friend’s work and accompany the first steps of the Format Raisin exhibition. They are presented at the gallery.
