Barthélémy Toguo
Born in Cameroon in 1967, Barthélémy Toguo shares his time between Paris and Bandjoun in Cameroon. His work, since the early 1990s, refers to several fields : photography, video, performance, watercolor and sculpture. With a great sense of humor, of provocation and of poetic matters, Toguo deals with central questions to his identity such as politics and migration flows, both human and commercial.
Carpe Diem is the first jewel by Toguo. It is inspired by his monumental wood “stamp” sculptures and linked to questions of identity and control often raised in his work.
